Congratulations on purchasing a Lakon Type-10 Improvised Battleship!

Many of our Type-10 customers enjoy the luxury of setting up their ship for fully automated turret defense, letting the Type-10 deliver justice and security while its pilot enjoys a coffee and a crossword.

Did you know that your Lakon Type-10 comes equipped with Lakon Alerting, a top-of-the-line ship monitoring system capable of notifying you to any disruptions to your ship’s security?

When dangerous events are detected such as shields failing or ship-launched fighter destroyed, Lakon Alerting will DM you on Discord so you can return to the cockpit and correct the situation.

Lakon Alerting may also be installed for use with other models of ship, including those by inferior manufacturers.

Installation Process#

  • Install Elite Dangerous Market Connector if you haven’t already done so
  • Download the Lakon Alerting EDMC Plugin
  • Install the Lakon Alerting EDMC Plugin as described in EDMC Plugins Guide
  • Grant the Lakon Alerting Discord Bot the ability to send you DMs
  • Open Discord, in any channel type /key and select the /key command from Lakon Operator
  • Lakon Operator will send you a key that is only visible to you
  • Copy the key Lakon Operator sent you
  • In EDMC, open Settings, select the lakon_alerting tab, and paste the key in the Lakon Key text box
  • Make sure Enable Alerting checkbox is active and click OK
  • EDMC main window should show Alerting: On
  • Test your setup by dropping your shield (using Silent Running or disable shield generator module)
  • You should receive an alert from Lakon Operator!

Usage Notes#

  • Supported events that send alerts:
    • Shields down 🔵🚫
    • Ship-launched fighter destroyed ✈️💥
    • Hull damage 🚢🔨
    • Ship destroyed 🚢💥
  • EDMC must remain running for Lakon Alerting to be in effect
  • Lakon Alerting can be enabled/disabled in EDMC settings
  • Lakon Operator discord bot can also be enabled/disabled with Discord slash commands
    • Lakon Operator defaults to enabled when first installed
  • Both EDMC plugin and discord bot must be enabled for the system to function
